The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is an organization created and managed by the Consumer Goods Forum, international trade association. The GFSI maintains a scheme of food safety standards of reference for manufacturers as well as the standards of farm assurance.

The GFSI objectives are:

  • Reduce food safety risks through the delivery of equivalence and the affinity between the management systems of effective inactivity food.
  • Management costs in the global food system by eliminating redundancy and improving efficiency.
  • Develop skills and capacity building in food safety to create consistent global food systems.
  • Provide a platform for group collaboration, knowledge sharing and networking.
